YOBE GOVERNMENT CONFIRMS FOUR DEATHS FROM ACUTE DIARRHOEA IN GUJBA LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA

The Yobe State Government has confirmed the death of four individuals from acute diarrhoea in Gujba Local Government Area. Dr. Lawan Gana, the Commissioner for Health, reported this to newsmen in Damaturu on Monday.

The cases were identified in the Jangalawaji and Tadandara settlements within Gujba Ward, areas recently affected by severe flooding. Dr. Gana mentioned that samples from the victims have been collected and are undergoing examination.

He reassured the public not to panic, emphasizing that the government is taking all necessary steps to address the situation. Dr. Gana also clarified that there is no confirmed outbreak of cholera in Gujba and Ngelzarma, noting that only laboratory results can definitively confirm such an outbreak.
