Titled “Piece of My Heart,” the track blends Wizkid’s signature Afrobeat style with R&B elements, showcasing heartwarming lyrics and captivating melodies that evoke the soothing sound from his classic album Made In Lagos.
Produced by P2J and Dpat, the song offers a narrative of love and good times, with a notable mid-track beat flip that stands out as a highlight. “Piece of My Heart” samples Wu-Tang Clan’s iconic 1994 track “Can It Be All So Simple” and Gladys Knight & The Pips’ 1973 cover of Barbra Streisand’s “The Way We Were,” adding a nostalgic layer to its contemporary vibe.
