The online altercation between Nigerian music heavyweights Wizkid and Davido on April 29, 2024, has stunned fans and the music industry alike. The feud ignited during an interactive session Wizkid held with his fans, during which he referred to Don Jazzy as merely an influencer and mocked Davido by sharing a viral video of him crying.

Davido quickly responded on his X account with a snide comment, “they don forget your gbedu,” insinuating that Wizkid’s music no longer resonates with the audience. This triggered a heated exchange, with Wizkid delivering a scathing reply that insulted Davido and his associate, Perruzi. He called Perruzi a “pant washer” and dismissed Davido’s musical prowess, stating, “U and all ur crew plus ur pant washer songwriter go to sleep at night thinking you actually got anything on me in music wish u all well.”

The back-and-forth intensified as Wizkid labeled Davido delusional, to which Davido retorted by calling Wizkid a sick man. In a move that further fueled the fire, Wizkid reposted the crying video of Davido and criticized him for allegedly squandering his influence and endorsement deals.

The exchange continued with Wizkid belittling Davido by calling him an influencer who relies on a songwriter, while Davido retaliated by calling Wizkid a “4ft man” who shops at Kids Footlocker, challenging him to release a solo track by Friday. Wizkid, in turn, dared Davido to release a song he wrote himself.

This dramatic confrontation has left fans bewildered, especially since the two artists seemed to be on good terms as recently as December 2023, when they were seen partying together and Davido promoted Wizkid’s project ‘S2’. The unexpected clash has certainly marked a significant moment in the contemporary Nigerian music scene.
