The rivalry between Afrobeats icons Ayodeji Balogun, known as Wizkid, and David Adeleke, a.k.a. Davido, has reignited with fresh tensions following announcements of their upcoming releases.
The drama began on Tuesday when Davido teased a snippet of a new single set for release in 2024. Coincidentally, Wizkid was also preparing to drop the first track from his highly anticipated album, “Morayo.”
The situation escalated when Davido’s associate, Kayode Yajaur, also known as Black Tycoone, appeared to mock Wizkid regarding the delay of his album. He tweeted, “Tell your Daddy to drop an album already,” which added fuel to the fire.
Wizkid responded indirectly to the provocation on X (formerly Twitter), posting, “P***y boys dropping mid again,” followed by, “Una don tire! Make una go rest small!” Although he didn’t mention Davido directly, fans quickly interpreted the comments as targeted at the “Fem” singer.
In the midst of the exchange, a fan defended Davido by accusing Wizkid of using their rivalry to gain attention, tweeting, “So if you no beef @davido, your song won’t sell?” Wizkid wasted no time in responding, denying any clout-chasing motives and attacking Davido’s musical talent. “I don’t beef wack niggas! We all know he’s wack! No talent!” he fired back.
Continuing his tirade, Wizkid dismissed Davido’s discography as “trash” and bragged about his superior body of work. “80 trash! We got 80 albums for any song y’all drop! P***y boys!” he added, further intensifying the feud.
Despite the harsh words exchanged, Davido has opted for silence, refraining from publicly engaging in the ongoing dispute. The rivalry continues to capture the attention of fans, as both artists prepare for their new music releases.
