Nigerian singer Tems has addressed the peculiar rumours circulating on social media about her allegedly being pregnant by American rapper Future. She took to clearing the air and expressed her bewilderment at the speculation.
Tems, who is not pregnant and certainly not expecting a child with Future, discussed the absurdity of the rumours during her appearance on the recent episode of The Breakfast Club. When asked about the wildest thing she’s heard about herself, Tems pointed out the outlandish speculation that she was pregnant by Future, who already has eight children with different partners.
She remarked, “The wildest thing I’ve heard about myself is probably the pregnancy. I don’t know where it came from; I was just minding my business. It’s all so crazy and I think it’s because people are recognizing me.”
Tems found the rumours particularly puzzling, questioning why Future was chosen as the alleged father. She reflected, “Oh yeah, I feel like people just take the most controversial thing you can think of. I was thinking, why am I pregnant? And for Future? Why Future? Why not WizKid? Why not Drake? Why not someone else? It would be the same thing but with Future, it’s extreme.”
On the matter of her family’s reaction, Tems shared that they responded with humor and concern. “My family members would just send me prayers, prayers like ‘you won’t be pregnant for any type of future in Jesus name,'” she said.
