According to Charly Boy, the clarity of Dangote’s petrol signifies the use of ethanol, which enhances engine efficiency and power. Ethanol, he notes, has a high oxygen content that reduces carbon buildup in engines, leading to lower air pollution and improved performance.
Charly Boy elaborated, “Petrol comes in different colors: red indicates added octane, slightly green shows a high level of octane, and yellow signifies unleaded petrol. However, when it’s as clear as water, it means ethanol has been used. Ethanol improves engine efficiency and reduces carbon dioxide emissions.”
This explanation follows the announcement by Dangote on September 3, 2024, of the commencement of petrol production at his refinery in Nigeria. Dangote’s fuel, distinguished by its white appearance, has been widely welcomed in Nigeria.
