Queen Salawa Abeni, a renowned figure in Fuji music, delights fans with her rendition of Asake’s popular track ‘Fuji Vibes’.

Salawa Abeni, a Waka music icon who achieved great success in the 70s and 80s, revisits her musical roots with this heartfelt cover. In a recently shared video, the 63-year-old artist is seen performing a vibrant version of Asake’s hit single from his latest album, Lungu Boy.

Her cover serves as a nostalgic reminder of her influential career, which began with the groundbreaking album General Murtala Ramat Muhammad in 1976. This album made Abeni the first female Yoruba artist to sell over 1 million copies in a year, celebrating the late head of state.

Throughout her four-decade career, Abeni has become a legendary figure in Fuji music, paving the way for future female artists in the genre.
