Nigerian striker Victor Boniface is thrilled after making his debut in the UEFA Champions League for Bayer Leverkusen.
He played 62 minutes in Leverkusen’s impressive 4-0 victory over Feyenoord at the Stadion Feyenoord in Rotterdam on Thursday night, before being substituted for Patrick Schick.
Reflecting on the match, Boniface described the experience as a dream come true, recalling his childhood in Akure, Nigeria, where he paid just 30 naira to watch Champions League games at the 323 Army Barracks.
“From paying 30 Naira to watch Champions League football for nights back then in 323 Army Barracks, Akure, to playing my first Champions League game. Proud of this moment,” he shared on X.
