Social media influencer Martins Otse, popularly known as VeryDarkMan, has arrived at the National Assembly. He appeared on Monday at the Assembly complex accompanied by his lawyer, Deji Adeyanju.
VeryDarkMan is currently before the House of Representatives Joint Committee investigating disturbing allegations of corruption against the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Nigerian Correctional Services (NCoS). Also present before the committee are Bobrisky’s lawyer, Averosoghene Omuvwie, and representatives from the EFCC and Correctional Services.
Idris Okuneye, aka Bobrisky, has yet to arrive, although his lawyer, Avwerosuoghene Omuvwie, is in the chamber. When invited to speak, VeryDarkMan stated, “Today, I will not say anything because an invitation was given to me and Bobrisky. But he is not here. I don’t see why I will be here and he is not. So I won’t say anything, but my lawyer will.”
Background
VeryDarkMan previously posted an audio clip in which Bobrisky allegedly claimed to have bribed some EFCC officials with N15 million to drop a money laundering charge against her. The audio also suggested that Bobrisky was never imprisoned but stayed in an apartment while supposedly serving a six-month jail term for Naira abuse. Bobrisky has denied the claims made in the audio and threatened legal action.
