The first round of the 2024/2025 UEFA Champions League will continue on Thursday with six fixtures across various European venues.
Two standout matches on today’s schedule are Atalanta vs. Arsenal and Monaco vs. Barcelona.
Atalanta, led by Gian Piero Gasperini, aims to build on their 3-2 Serie A victory over Fiorentina. Arsenal, managed by Mikel Arteta, enters the match following a 1-0 win in the North London derby against Tottenham Hotspur, courtesy of a Gabriel Magalhaes header. However, Arsenal will be missing key players such as Martin Odegaard, Kieran Tierney, and new signing Mikel Merino. Atalanta also faces injury concerns with players like Gianluca Scamacca and Rafael Toloi.
Meanwhile, Barcelona, under Hansi Flick, travel to Monaco with confidence after winning all their La Liga matches so far. Barcelona’s star players, including Lamine Yamal, Robert Lewandowski, and Dani Olmo, have been impressive. Monaco, managed by Adi Hutter, has also had a strong start in Ligue 1, earning 10 points from 12.
Atalanta vs. Arsenal will kick off at Gewiss Stadium at 8pm, while Monaco vs. Barcelona will be held at Stade Louis II at the same time.
