Afrosoul sensation Uchechi Emelonye has voiced her support for heartbroken women in Nigeria, particularly calling out men who frequently break promises and take the emotions of decent ladies for granted.
In a recent conversation with NollyNow, Uchechi dedicated her new song, ‘Foolish,’ to women experiencing emotional pain, urging them to move forward in their lives.
According to Uchechi, “It’s a special dedication to very decent ladies out there who are being ‘served breakfast’ by their men. In reality, it is not a sign of weakness to fall in love. They should realize that the guys taking advantage of decent ladies and toying with their emotions are ‘Foolish.’ They should keep their heads up and learn to let go and say goodbye. They will definitely meet the right guy who truly deserves them.”
‘Foolish’ is one of the standout tracks from Uchechi’s newly released mixed-emotions album under the Emelux Records imprint. The album also features other tracks like My Time, First Time, Over You, Dance, and Margins.
Known as the Afrosoul Princess, Uchechi is a UK-trained lawyer who has previously released three singles: ‘Little Black Bird,’ ‘Sunrise to Sundown,’ and ‘Underwater.’ The latter won the BBC Music Introducing Record of the Year 2022 in Lancashire, England, showcasing her growing prominence in the music industry.
