The Nigeria Army reported that its troops, who are part of counter-terrorism operations in Ebonyi State, successfully repelled an attack on Isheke Police Station carried out by suspected Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) terrorists. The assailants burned down the police facility and several vehicles parked on the premises.
In response, the troops launched a counter-offensive upon arriving at the scene. This led to a fierce gun battle during which the terrorists were overpowered and forced to retreat. The Nigerian Army’s statement revealed that five suspected terrorists were killed in the confrontation. Additionally, the troops seized several weapons, including:
