Transfer expert Dean Jones has revealed that Chelsea may turn their attention to Brentford striker Ivan Toney if they are unable to secure a deal for Victor Osimhen from Napoli. Chelsea is keen to sign Osimhen this summer, but if that transfer does not materialize, Toney could become a key alternative for the Blues.
In an interview with GiveMeSport, Jones discussed Toney’s potential move, noting that while the striker is also attracting interest from Saudi Arabia, a move to a Premier League club like Chelsea could be more appealing. He highlighted the financial benefits of a move to Saudi Arabia but suggested that Toney might prefer the opportunity to prove himself at a top Premier League club.
Jones also pointed out that with Arsenal and Tottenham having ruled out a move for Toney and Manchester United unlikely to pursue him, Chelsea could be the primary Premier League destination for the striker if Osimhen does not join the club. Chelsea has been closely monitoring Toney throughout the year, making him a viable option should their pursuit of Osimhen fall through.
