“Transfer Update: David De Gea Nears Fiorentina Move, Real Madrid Targets Chelsea’s Josh Acheampong”
Former Manchester United goalkeeper David De Gea is on the verge of joining Serie A club Fiorentina. De Gea, who has been a free agent since leaving Old Trafford at the end of his contract in June 2023, has reportedly reached an advanced stage in negotiations with the Italian side.
According to football transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, Fiorentina is finalizing the deal with De Gea. The contract is expected to be for one year, with an option for an additional season, and a net salary of around €3 million per year. The agreement is nearly complete, pending the confirmation of De Gea’s medical tests.
In transfer news related to Real Madrid, the Spanish giants are reportedly interested in Chelsea’s 18-year-old full-back Josh Acheampong. Acheampong, who made his senior debut for Chelsea in May during a home victory against Tottenham, is also attracting interest from Paris Saint-Germain. The young defender is expected to command a transfer fee of approximately £12.9 million (€15 million). Both Real Madrid and PSG see Acheampong as a promising option to provide depth behind their primary full-backs, Dani Carvajal and Achraf Hakimi.
