Harry Kane’s contract with Bayern Munich includes a release clause that could potentially see him return to England in the future, according to BILD. Although Kane’s move to Bayern in 2023 appeared to end his hopes of surpassing Alan Shearer’s Premier League goal record, the release clause introduces a possibility for a return to the Premier League.
As per the terms of his contract, Kane had the option to trigger the clause during the January transfer window for around €80 million (£67m). While this opportunity has passed, the clause will be valid again next January, allowing Kane to leave Bayern for €65 million (£54m).
Despite this potential, Kane is currently thriving at Bayern, both on and off the pitch. He has settled well in Germany with his family and is in good form, but the allure of returning to the Premier League to challenge Shearer’s record of 260 goals could still tempt him, especially as he is now 47 goals behind. It’ll be interesting to see if that option will become more appealing as time passes.
