President Bola Tinubu has called on the latest graduates of the National Defence College (NDC) Course 32 to be vigilant and proactive in tackling both regional and global security threats. The call was made by Vice President Kashim Shettima, who represented the President at the graduation ceremony in Abuja.
The NDC graduated 111 participants from Nigeria’s armed forces, as well as from 19 other friendly nations, including members of the Nigeria Police Force and various security agencies. Tinubu highlighted the importance of applying the knowledge and strategies gained during their course to address ongoing national security challenges.
He emphasized the need for vigilance and proactivity in confronting both regional and global threats, while also promoting democratic values and principles. As the current chair of ECOWAS, Tinubu expressed commitment to strengthening regional ties and resolving issues within the community.
Tinubu praised the NDC for its excellence, courage, patriotism, and integrity, and assured support for the college’s move to its permanent site. He acknowledged the dedication of the armed forces in safeguarding Nigeria’s territorial integrity and pledged continued support to address security, social, and economic challenges facing the country.
The President also mentioned recent achievements, including the implementation of a new national minimum wage benefiting both civilian and military personnel. He noted ongoing efforts to combat crude oil theft and pipeline vandalism in the Niger Delta and emphasized the government’s commitment to creating a conducive business environment and leveraging international partnerships to develop the mining sector for national security.
The NDC graduates, drawn from various security and government sectors, were recognized for their contributions to national and global security strategies.
