President Bola Tinubu has authorized the immediate reconstruction of the Wagga bridge, which connects Adamawa and Borno states. Mohammed Goni, Director-General of the North East Development Commission (NEDC), confirmed this decision following a recent inspection of the collapsed bridge in Madagali Local Government Area of Adamawa.

Goni noted that the bridge had been damaged multiple times, with the most recent collapse occurring after heavy rainfall. He assured that, while reconstruction may be delayed due to weather conditions, alternative measures will be implemented to facilitate vehicle movement. Goni also promised the repair of other damaged culverts along the route.

Local resident Malam Mohammed Saidu reported significant challenges due to the bridge collapse, including difficulties accessing markets and farm areas. He called for urgent assistance from both federal and state governments to alleviate the hardships faced by the community.
