President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has announced a 30-day National Youth Conference to tackle the challenges facing Nigerian youths, including unemployment, social justice, and education.
In his speech commemorating Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary, Tinubu emphasized that youths will be consulted through their representatives to determine the modalities and delegate selection for the conference. The aim is to engage the youth, who make up over 60% of the population, in meaningful dialogue to develop solutions and empower them in nation-building.
Tinubu also highlighted the government’s 3 Million Technical Talents Programme (3MTT), which focuses on building the technical skills of Nigeria’s youth through the Ministry of Communications, Innovation, and Digital Economy. The programme is part of broader efforts to prepare Nigerian youths for a rapidly changing global landscape.
