Omoni Oboli has officially announced that the highly anticipated film, The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3, will hit cinemas on October 18, 2024. This latest installment continues the popular Wives on Strike franchise, which began with the original film in 2016 and was followed by a sequel in 2018.
Oboli shared her excitement for the movie on August 22, 2024, expressing the intense emotions she experienced during production. “Besties, we have a date. I’m still processing the intense emotions I felt while making this movie. Be prepared to be on the edge of your seat. Mark your calendars—THE UPRISING is coming to cinemas near you from OCTOBER 18. Stay tuned Wives on Strike 3,” she posted.
The Wives on Strike series is known for its blend of humor and social commentary. The new film, The Uprising: Wives on Strike 3, tackles themes of love, friendship, and resilience as it follows a widow whose world is turned upside down when her child is kidnapped. Facing an urgent crisis, she must delve into the darkest depths of human despair to find her child.
Produced by Dion Vision Films and distributed by Nile Entertainment, this is Nile’s first title under its distribution arm. The movie is also supported by several notable partners, including UBA Group, GAC Motor, Interswitch Group, Red TV, and BOZ Diamonds, with Oboli serving as a brand ambassador for the latter.
