< 1 mn read

Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has countered claims suggesting that the state is in crisis, emphasizing that Rivers remains peaceful and stable. He addressed these concerns on Thursday during an inspection tour of the 14.6km Omodu-Eberi Road project in Omuma Local Government Area.

Governor Fubara dismissed the negative portrayals as misguided, unpatriotic, and mischievous, asserting that Rivers residents are living peacefully in their communities with ongoing projects facing no significant challenges. He highlighted that governance, movement, and social and economic activities continue unhindered, indicating a healthy state environment.

Reaffirming his administration’s dedication to people-oriented policies and sustainable development, Fubara emphasized his commitment to creating a favorable climate for investment. He underscored the administration’s efforts to attract investors by ensuring a peaceful and supportive environment.

Regarding the Omodu-Eberi Road project, the governor explained the delay in its completion, attributing it to the decision to extend the road from 8 kilometers to 14.6 kilometers to connect with Abia State. This extension aims to enhance regional connectivity and support further development.

Governor Fubara’s statements aimed to reassure the public and potential investors of the state’s stability and ongoing progress under his administration.
