The Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Muhammad Sa’ad Abubakar, has arrived in Maiduguri, Borno State, to extend condolences to the Emirate, the people, and the government following the recent devastating flood disaster.
Accompanied by distinguished traditional leaders, including Etsu Nupe Alhaji Yahya Abubakar, the Sultan visited the Palace of the Shehu of Borno and generously donated N50 million to the Borno Emirate Council.
During his visit to Government House Maiduguri, the Sultan expressed sympathy to Governor Babagana Umara Zulum and the people of Borno, offering prayers for the souls of the deceased and the swift recovery of the injured.
This visit follows an earlier trip by Sadaukin Sokoto, Engr. Muhammad Lawal Maidoki, who delivered food items and relief materials valued at N30 million to assist those affected by the floods.
The donations included essentials such as rice, garri, spaghetti, Maggi seasoning, and cooking oil. Both the Shehu of Borno and Governor Zulum expressed gratitude to the donors, praying for Allah’s blessings.
This visit highlights the unity and compassion of Nigeria’s traditional leaders during times of crisis.
