Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Director General of the World Trade Organisation (WTO), has criticized Nigerian opposition politicians for using insecurity as a political weapon against the current government. Speaking at the 2024 Annual General Conference of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) in Lagos, Okonjo-Iweala condemned the practice of instigating insecurity to damage political opponents’ reputations, emphasizing that such actions hinder both security and socio-economic development.
