Sheikh Zakirullah Dan’Iya, leader of the Tijjaniyyah Islamic sect in Lafia, Nasarawa State, has highlighted that Eid-el-Maulud is an occasion for Muslims to renew their faith and dedicate their time to the service of Almighty God.
In a telephone interview on Monday, Dan’Iya explained that Maulud provides an opportunity to express gratitude to Allah for the birth of Prophet Muhammad (SAW) and his companions. The celebration involves town processions, solidarity chants, and acts of charity, reflecting on the Prophet’s teachings and leadership qualities that promote peace, unity, and solidarity among Muslims.
He emphasized that Eid-el-Maulud, observed on the 12th of Rabi’ al-awwal, commemorates the Prophet’s birthday and honors his legacy and contributions to human civilization.
