Former Kaduna Central Senator Shehu Sani has advised Nigerian state governors to exercise caution when entering into contracts with foreign companies. His warning follows a recent dispute between Nigeria and the Chinese firm Zhongshan Fucheng Industrial Investment Co. Limited, which resulted in a French court ordering the seizure of Nigerian government jets, including a Dassault Falcon 7X, an Airbus A330-243, and a Boeing 737-7N6/BBJ.
Sani expressed concern that such disputes could lead to further seizures of Nigerian assets abroad, including those owned by Nigerians in the diaspora. His cautionary note comes in light of the ongoing legal and contractual conflicts, highlighting the potential risks involved in international agreements.
