“Seyi Vibez, a well-known Nigerian singer, recently revealed a distressing experience from the early stages of his career. In an interview with Wazobia FM, Lagos, Seyi Vibez recounted how he was deceived and defrauded while attempting to join Wizkid’s renowned record label, Starboy Entertainment.

According to Seyi Vibez, at the age of 13, he harbored aspirations of signing with Starboy Entertainment. To pursue this dream, he turned to Google in search of information on how to join the prestigious label. Upon finding a contact number associated with Starboy Entertainment, Seyi Vibez dialed the number and was instructed to pay a registration fee of N10,000 for the application form.

Trusting the legitimacy of the transaction, Seyi Vibez parted with his phone, selling it to raise the required funds. However, after making the payment, he found himself blocked by the individual who claimed to be Wizkid’s recruitment officer. Despite assurances of a screening and performance opportunity with Wizkid himself, Seyi Vibez realized that he had fallen victim to a scam.

Reflecting on this ordeal, Seyi Vibez emphasized the importance of caution for aspiring artists, advising them against signing up for record labels online without proper verification. His experience serves as a cautionary tale, highlighting the vulnerability of young artists in the industry and the prevalence of scams targeting their aspirations.

By sharing his story, Seyi Vibez hopes to raise awareness and prevent others from falling prey to similar fraudulent schemes. His resilience and determination to succeed despite setbacks underscore the challenges faced by emerging artists and the importance of navigating the industry with vigilance and discernment.”
