Senator Shehu Sani, a former member of the Senate, and Segun Showunmi, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party, will head a panel of experts at the upcoming Social Media Summit. The event is scheduled for Wednesday, September 18, at the Yar’Adua Centre in Abuja and will focus on the influence of social media on Nigeria’s governance.
The summit will delve into the evolving role of digital platforms in shaping civic engagement and governance. Discussions will feature contributions from All Progressives Congress (APC) national youth leader Dayo Israel, human rights activist Deji Adeyanju, and Obidient Movement coordinator Tanko Yinusa.
Hassie Mohammed, spokesperson for the event organizers Red Carpet Protocol, emphasized that the summit aims to bring together a diverse group of voices for meaningful dialogue. The event seeks to explore how social media affects Nigeria’s political landscape, governance, and citizen engagement, and to foster connections among policymakers, social media experts, and the public.
