Senator Shehu Umar Buba, representing Bauchi South and Chairman of the Senate Committee on National Security and Intelligence, has dismissed allegations by Governor Bala Mohammed that he is involved in supporting banditry. Senator Buba described the claims as baseless and politically motivated.

In a statement released by his Legislative Assistant, Hassan Gajin Duguri, Senator Buba criticized Governor Mohammed for making unfounded accusations in a petition to President Bola Tinubu. He asserted that the governor’s claims were “laughable and regrettable,” noting that he only responded to set the record straight.

Buba condemned Governor Mohammed for continuously attacking the Federal Government and attempting to undermine his position by spreading falsehoods and withdrawing his chieftaincy title. The Senator emphasized that, despite the governor’s efforts to tarnish his reputation, he remains committed to serving his constituency and defending the President against unjust attacks.

The statement further explained that Senator Buba has no connections with any alleged bandits registered for the Hajj pilgrimage, clarifying that the senator’s office had no involvement in any unlawful activities.

Senator Buba reaffirmed his dedication to counter-insurgency efforts and anti-banditry initiatives, which are yielding positive results, while accusing Governor Bala Mohammed of waging a political vendetta against him.
