Senate President Godswill Akpabio has hailed the election of Senator Monday Okpebholo as the governor-elect of Edo State as a significant achievement for the All Progressives Congress (APC).
In a statement released by his Special Adviser on Media and Publicity, Mr. Eseme Eyiboh, Akpabio congratulated Okpebholo and his running mate, Dennis Idahosa, for their “hard-fought, but well-deserved victory” in the recent governorship election. He emphasized that the election outcome represents not only a win for the APC but for the entire state of Edo.
Akpabio noted that this victory would facilitate increased Federal Government projects and infrastructure development in the state. “This triumph is a testament to Sen. Okpebholo’s tireless efforts and commitment to the people of Edo,” he stated. He highlighted Okpebholo’s track record as a seasoned politician and senator representing Edo Central Senatorial District, emphasizing his capability to drive positive change.
The Senate President urged Okpebholo to continue his good works and ensure the benefits of democracy reach every corner of Edo State. He called on the people of Edo to support their new governor, enabling him to advance the state’s progress.
Expressing confidence in Okpebholo and Idahosa as representatives of the National Assembly, Akpabio encouraged them to build on the accomplishments achieved thus far and elevate Edo to greater heights. He urged them to be magnanimous in victory, extending their hands of fellowship to all Edo residents, regardless of their political affiliations, and to focus on uniting the state and attracting development.
