FilmOne Studios has unveiled its upcoming period drama, “Farmer’s Bride,” set to premiere in cinemas on September 27, 2024. The film is set in 1980s Ibadan and revolves around the story of Odun, a wealthy but lonely farmer who decides to marry a young bride named Funmi, chosen by her mother Tundun. Funmi, initially meant to bring joy to Odun’s life, finds herself trapped in a marriage she did not choose, leading to grief and resentment.

Directed by Adebayo Tijani and Jack’enneth Opukeme, who also serves as the screenwriter, “Farmer’s Bride” delves into themes of love, loyalty, and the consequences of revenge. Jack’enneth Opukeme, known for his work on films like “Adire” and “Battle on Buka Street,” brings his storytelling prowess to this production alongside Adebayo Tijani, known for directing films such as “Elemosho,” “King of Thieves,” and “Jagun Jagun.”

The cast includes notable names such as Femi Branch, Tobi Bakre, Gbubemi Ejeye, Mercy Aigbe, Efe Irele, and Wumi Toriola. Ladun Awobokun serves as the supervising producer, while the executive producers are FilmOne Group CEO Kene Okwuosa, Ladun Awobokun, and Craig Shurn.
