RIVERS STATE ELECTORAL COMMISSION CONFIRMS USE OF AUTHENTIC VOTERS REGISTER FOR LOCAL GOVERNMENT ELECTIONS

The Rivers State Electoral Commission (RSIEC) has confirmed that it is using the authentic Voters Register obtained from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for the ongoing local government council elections in the state.

Azunda Fulfill, the Presiding Officer for Unit 8, Ward 3 in the Isiodu Community of Emohua Local Government Area, reported a peaceful voting process, emphasizing that the Voter Register being used is valid. He stated, “The process is going fine. People are voting. For now, there is no issue. We are doing the work calmly.”

Fulfill further reassured voters, saying, “The voter register we have is the same thing as the one used for the 2023 election. The voter’s card and the register are tallied. It is the correct voter register.”

Voting is also ongoing at Unit 26, Ward 4 of Emohua LGA, where Senator Andrew Uchendu is expected to cast his vote.

Meanwhile, the Chairmanship Candidate of the Action Peoples Party for the Obio/Akpor Local Government Area, Hon. Chijioke Ihunwo, also cast his vote at Unit 40
