The Emeka Beke-led faction of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State has accused Tony Okocha of attempting to push former Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, out of the party. This claim follows Okocha’s recent remarks, where he described Amaechi as a “failed politician” who couldn’t bring any development projects to Rivers State during his tenure as Minister.

Darlington Nwauju, the spokesperson for the Beke faction, responded to Okocha’s comments, suggesting that Okocha’s actions were part of a broader strategy to tarnish Amaechi’s reputation and divide the APC. Nwauju questioned why Okocha and his group seem to focus solely on attacking Amaechi and highlighted that Okocha’s goal appears to be creating a rift within the APC in Rivers State, with the intention of forcing Amaechi out of the party. The statement reflects the ongoing internal tensions within the APC in the state and the clash over leadership and influence.
