The Shepherd Superintendent of the Household of God Church, Lagos, Rev. Chris Okotie, has called on Nigerians to use the nation’s 64th Independence Anniversary as an opportunity to renew their faith in God’s promises.
In a press release shared with Vanguard on Monday by his media adviser, Ladi Ayodeji, Rev. Okotie drew heavily from the Bible, referencing the story of Abraham to encourage Nigerians to remain hopeful for better days ahead. He reminded them that God never abandons His people.
His goodwill message reads, in part: “These are challenging times. Our faith in God must be the stabilizing force that keeps us steady as we navigate the turbulent waters of our complex reality. Nigeria is a client nation of God with a prophetic destiny, and the sovereign oversight of Almighty God is guaranteed.
“Nigeria is strong. Nigeria will survive. So, keep hoping. Always hope. Keep hoping, always!”
Rev. Okotie has consistently emphasized that Nigeria enjoys a unique relationship with God, reassuring the people that the country’s challenges should not be a source of fear.
