“House Committee on Crude Oil Thefts Warns Offenders of Severe Penalties”
The House of Representatives Special Committee on Crude Oil Thefts has issued a stern warning to those involved in sabotaging Nigeria’s oil sector, pledging to enforce stringent legal action against perpetrators. Alhaji Ado Alhassan Doguwa, the committee chairman, emphasized the urgent need to address the issue to prevent further financial losses and infrastructure damage.
He criticized the ongoing vandalism and criminal activities impacting the oil industry, attributing them to youth unrest and criminal actions in the creeks. Doguwa assured that the committee, under Speaker Tajudeen Abbas’s directive, is committed to identifying and prosecuting those responsible for these disruptions, including any political accomplices.
