Real Madrid’s coach, Carlo Ancelotti, confirmed on Monday that midfielders Jude Bellingham and Aurelien Tchouameni have recovered from their injuries as Los Blancos gear up to defend their Champions League title.
The 15-time record champions will face German side Stuttgart on Tuesday at the Santiago Bernabeu, bolstered by the return of England’s Bellingham and France’s Tchouameni.
Although defender Eder Militao did not participate in Monday’s training session, Ancelotti assured that he will be ready for the upcoming match.
“Bellingham is fit, Tchouameni is fit, and Militao will also be available for tomorrow, despite missing today’s session for additional recovery,” said Ancelotti.
He added, “We are glad to have two key players back, but unfortunately, we have lost another important player in Brahim Diaz.”
Bellingham, who had been playing in a deeper midfield role this season, had been sidelined with a calf injury since August, missing four La Liga matches.
“His return is fantastic news, not only for what he brings on the pitch but also for the team spirit,” said Dani Carvajal. “Seeing him back in the squad is great; we are counting on him.”
Bellingham was instrumental in Real Madrid’s successful Champions League campaign last season, including their victory over Borussia Dortmund in the Wembley final.
Ancelotti expressed his team’s eagerness to continue their success in the Champions League this year.
“We remain as motivated as ever. This competition is special for Real Madrid, and we will strive to compete until the end,” Ancelotti concluded.
