PRESIDENT TINUBU WARNS TERRORISTS AND INSURGENTS TO SURRENDER

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has issued a stern warning to terrorists and insurgents, urging them to surrender or face a renewed military offensive. This statement was made during the opening of the News Agency of Nigeria’s (NAN) inaugural Annual International Lecture held in Abuja.

Tinubu’s warning emphasizes the government’s commitment to tackling insecurity in Nigeria and the Sahel region. He was represented at the event by the National Security Adviser, Malam Nuhu Ribadu.

The lecture, themed “Insecurity in the Sahel (2008-2024): Dissecting Nigeria’s Challenges – Genesis, Impacts and Options,” was organized as part of NAN’s initiatives to address the growing threats of insecurity affecting Nigeria and neighboring countries.

Tinubu’s administration is focused on eliminating the challenges posed by terrorism and banditry, signaling a proactive approach to ensuring national security and stability. The warning comes amidst ongoing military efforts to combat violent extremism in various parts of the country, highlighting the government’s resolve to restore peace and order.
