PRESIDENT TINUBU CONFER NATIONAL HONOURS ON SENATE PRESIDENT, CJN, AND HOUSE SPEAKER

President Bola Tinubu has awarded prestigious national honours to Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN) Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, and Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas.

Tinubu announced this on Tuesday morning during his nationwide broadcast marking Nigeria’s 64th Independence Anniversary.

Other honorees include Deputy Senate President Barau Jibrin and Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives Benjamin Kalu.

In his address, President Tinubu stated that, in line with tradition, the federal government will soon release the complete list of honorees for 2024.

He noted, “The Senate President and the Chief Justice of the Federation have been conferred with the honour of Grand Commander of the Order of the Niger (GCON). The Deputy Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives have been awarded Commander of the Order of the Federal Republic (CFR), while the Deputy Speaker has received the honour of Commander of the Order of Niger (CON).”
