PRESIDENT TINUBU APPOINTS JUSTICE KUDIRAT KEKERE-EKUN AS ACTING CJN

President Bola Tinubu has appointed Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun as the acting Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), following the retirement of Justice Olukayode Ariwoola on August 22.

Justice Kekere-Ekun is the 23rd person to hold the position and the second female to assume the role. Her appointment is provisional, pending confirmation by the Senate.

The official swearing-in ceremony took place on August 23, 2024.
