President Tinubu and Mbasogo Sign Gulf of Guinea Gas Pipeline Agreement

President Bola Tinubu and President Teodoro Mbasogo of Equatorial Guinea have signed a key agreement on the Gulf of Guinea Pipeline Project. The agreement, formalized on Wednesday evening in Malabo, covers legislative and regulatory aspects, the pipeline’s establishment and operation, natural gas transit, and general principles.

Tinubu highlighted that this agreement would pave the way for increased gas exploration and job creation. During his visit, he also discussed broader issues such as employment, food security, multilateral relations, and conflict resolution within Africa.

President Mbasogo emphasized the importance of deepening cooperation between Nigeria and Equatorial Guinea and expressed support for Africa’s bid for a permanent seat on the UN Security Council.

The signing ceremony was witnessed by key officials including Amb. Yusuf Tuggar, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and several other Nigerian ministers.
