In a recent interview on Echo Room, Portable revealed that he turned down a $6,000 show to spend time with Davido during his American tour. The Street pop star detailed that the meeting with Davido, which took place in Atlanta, came with a significant cost.

Portable shared that he made the decision to forego the lucrative gig to hang out with the Grammy-winning artist, hoping to build a stronger connection. However, the meeting did not go as planned, and Portable expressed frustration over Davido’s subsequent change of heart regarding a promised collaboration.

“Who go bless you no go stress you,” Portable lamented in pidgin English, highlighting his disappointment with Davido’s broken promise and the role he believes Afrobeats star Zlatan played in the situation.

According to Portable, during his time in the U.S., he was looking for a foreign artist to collaborate with when Davido invited him to hang out. It was during this period that Zlatan allegedly advised Davido to be cautious about associating with Portable.

Portable had previously accused Zlatan of sabotaging his relationship with Davido through social media rants. Despite his attempts to repair this fractured relationship, including a public apology, tensions remained.

Portable has also had notable disputes with other celebrities this year, including a high-profile clash with socialite Bobrisky and recent reconciliation with musician Goya Menor over a past award disagreement.

The Street pop star recently released a new single, “Oriade,” which he performed during his Echo Room interview.
