The Lagos State Police Command has arrested three suspects involved in a kidnapping case, having collected ₦3 million in ransom from the victim’s family.
Police spokesperson SP Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed the arrests to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday. According to Hundeyin, the Isashi Police Division received a report on Tuesday around noon about a kidnapping operation in Oke Moro, Isashi. A police team was dispatched to the location, where they rescued a 24-year-old male victim and apprehended the three suspects.
Initial investigations revealed that the kidnappers, after physically assaulting the victim, demanded ₦2 million in ransom, which was paid by the victim’s mother through two different bank accounts. Additionally, the suspects obtained ₦1 million from the victim’s bank account via mobile transfer. The victim was also deprived of three Nigerian International Passports and other valuables.
The investigation is ongoing as efforts continue to address the case.
