Controversial Nigerian singer, Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, has announced that he is now an ambassador for the Nigerian Police.
According to Naija News, this announcement comes just days after Portable was arrested for failing to pay the remaining balance on a G-Wagon car he purchased from a vehicle dealer in Lagos State.
Portable reportedly bought the vehicle for N27 million but only paid N13 million upfront, refusing to pay the remaining N14 million despite repeated efforts by the dealer to collect the balance. Each time the dealer contacted Portable, he allegedly claimed the vehicle was defective.
After exhausting all efforts to retrieve the balance, the frustrated dealer reported the matter to the police. Officers investigating the case subsequently arrested Portable.
The singer was released after meeting the bail conditions related to the N14 million debt for the G-Wagon.
In an Instagram post on Tuesday night, Portable expressed support for the police, stating that they are “our friends.” Reflecting on his recent troubles, he mentioned that he believes “every disappointment is a blessing.”
He wrote, “ZAzuu federal government libeliability Ọmọ ijoba Police Ambassador i do music 🎶 for living …. Star don’t beg to shine. Akoi Grace Wey No Dey disgrace.
“I no fit run from God that’s all my believing God is over everything after God na government Police 👮♀️ is our friends I believe in God my phone 📱 and sub any disappointment is a blessings. ZEHNATION many many inspiration.”
