Renowned philanthropist Hajiya Halimat Tejuosho has contributed N15 million and various relief materials to victims of the recent flooding disaster in Borno State. This donation underscores her ongoing commitment to alleviating the suffering of Nigerians through the Queen Adenike Tejuosho’s (QAT) Foundation.
Tejuosho made the donation at Yerwa Central Primary School in Maiduguri, with the support of Borno State Ministry of Education staff member Mr. Idris Ya’u. The relief items included 500 bags of 10kg rice, 500 cartons of Indomie, 500 blankets, and 500 mosquito nets. Additionally, financial support was given to vulnerable groups, with N10 million allocated to 100 nursing mothers and N5 million to 100 sick children.
She was received by the Shehu of Borno, His Majesty Abubakar Ibn Umar Garbai El-Kanemi, who also contributed essential items including Indomie, rice, mosquito nets, blankets, and children’s clothing to support the flood victims. The Shehu commended Tejuosho for her generosity and noted that her contribution would significantly aid in alleviating the hardships faced by the affected communities.
In her statement, Tejuosho expressed concern over the dire situation in Maiduguri and emphasized the need for both national and international support. She highlighted the importance of community solidarity in times of crisis and reaffirmed the QAT Foundation’s commitment to providing support, comfort, and hope to those in need.
