The Labour Party in Ebonyi State has endorsed Mr. Peter Obi as its national leader for the upcoming 2023 presidential elections, alongside appointing Fidelis Nwankwo as the state party leader. This decision emerged from a stakeholders meeting in Abakaliki, resulting in a six-point communiqué signed by representatives from various senatorial zones.
According to the communiqué, the stakeholders emphasized the need for unity among party members to support upcoming national and state congresses. They reaffirmed Peter Obi’s leadership role and his capability to address Nigeria’s economic challenges. The meeting also highlighted efforts to expand party membership and conduct inclusive congresses.
Additionally, the stakeholders urged aggrieved members to reconcile for the party’s collective interest in advancing Nigerian welfare and achieving political goals. These resolutions aim to strengthen the Labour Party’s presence and influence in Ebonyi State politics leading up to the 2023 elections.
