Mohammed Ndarani, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria (SAN), has called for cooperation between stakeholders in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), urging both elected and appointed officials like FCT Minister Nyesom Wike and Senator Ireti Kingibe to work together for the territory’s development. In an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Abuja, Ndarani emphasized the importance of unity among leaders to achieve positive change and address the challenges faced by the people of the FCT.

He expressed concern over the rift between Wike and Kingibe, highlighting that their collaboration could significantly benefit Nigeria as a whole. Ndarani stressed that despite their different roles and political affiliations, their primary focus should be on delivering the dividends of democracy to the people they serve. He urged them to set aside personal differences and prioritize the welfare of FCT residents, emphasizing that internal conflicts could hinder development and progress.

Ndarani referenced constitutional provisions outlining the distinct roles of the FCT Minister and the Senator representing the FCT, emphasizing that while their functions differ, their collective goal should be to enhance governance and improve the lives of Nigerians in the capital territory. He cited historical examples of cooperation between leaders from different political parties in the FCT and underscored the need for mutual respect and collaboration.

In conclusion, Ndarani called for an end to media confrontations and encouraged Wike and Kingibe to focus on constructive engagement that would foster unity and effective governance in the FCT. He emphasized that their leadership should serve as a model of unity and cooperation for the benefit of all Nigerians.
