The Petroleum and Natural Gas Senior Staff Association of Nigeria (PENGASSAN) has expressed deep sadness and shock over the tragic helicopter crash that resulted in the loss of four of its members and four others.
In a statement by its President, Festus Osifo, PENGASSAN conveyed its grief, stating, “The Association is deeply saddened and shocked by the tragic helicopter crash that claimed the lives of four of its esteemed members.” The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, October 24, 2024, in Rivers State.
The deceased were recognized as valued members of the PENGASSAN family and dedicated professionals in the oil and gas industry. Osifo noted that their contributions to the sector and the association would be sorely missed.
PENGASSAN extended heartfelt condolences to the families, friends, and colleagues of the victims during this difficult time, offering unwavering support as the community navigates this tragedy. The association is committed to assisting the bereaved families in any possible way.
Currently, PENGASSAN is working to gather more information regarding the circumstances of the crash and is fully cooperating with the relevant authorities in their investigation.
