The People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has affirmed its commitment to the results from the Edo State governorship election, as reported by its polling agents throughout the state. Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State, who chairs the Edo PDP National Campaign Council, echoed this stance.

National Publicity Secretary Hon. Debo Ologunagba stated that the results compiled by the PDP’s agents indicate a clear victory for their candidate, Dr. Asue Ighodalo. He criticized the All Progressives Congress (APC) for its aggressive response to Governor Fintiri, interpreting it as a sign of desperation to manipulate the election outcome.

Ologunagba alleged that the APC, in collusion with certain officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and security forces, tampered with the results during the collation process, substituting genuine votes with fabricated figures favoring their candidate, Monday Okpebholo.

He warned that any declaration of results that contradicts the will of the people could lead to significant unrest in Edo State. The PDP urged INEC to uphold the integrity of the election results and not overlook past violent incidents related to electoral manipulations.

The party emphasized that any attempts to alter the results would have serious consequences and called for actions that promote peace and democracy in Nigeria.
