Amid escalating tensions within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Prince Olagunsoye Oyinlola, the chairman of the National Reconciliation Committee, has announced that the committee has successfully reconciled members of the National Working Committee (NWC).
Oyinlola made this statement following a meeting with NWC members in Abuja on Tuesday. He expressed gratitude for the positive outcome, stating, “To the glory of God, we have been able to resolve the differences that have been causing our party some headache within the National Working Committee.”
He emphasized the importance of unity for the progress of the PDP, stating that the committee’s efforts have fostered open communication among members. “We have resolved to move on as a United National Working Committee, which is what we needed,” he added.
While he declined to specify the exact issues that were resolved, he acknowledged that these differences had lingered for some time. When asked about the upcoming National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting scheduled for Thursday, Oyinlola noted that this topic was not part of their discussions, stating, “I’m not in a position to talk about the NEC meeting.”
With the reconciliation process complete, Oyinlola expressed confidence that the party can now focus on its objectives moving forward.
