Amid the ongoing rift between the members of P-Square, Paul Okoye has made a heartfelt appeal to his brothers, urging them to preserve their family bond even if they no longer collaborate musically.
In a recent Instagram livestream, Paul, also known as Rudeboy, questioned why the brothers could not remain close despite their professional separation. “Even if we don’t do Psquare, can’t we still be brothers? Even if we don’t do music, can’t we be brothers?” Paul said, expressing his desire for familial unity despite the split.
His comments follow a period of heightened tension within the Okoye family. On August 17, 2024, their older brother Jude addressed allegations from Peter Okoye, who had accused him of misappropriating P-Square’s royalties. Jude denied these allegations during his own Instagram live session, asserting his innocence.
Paul’s appeal comes shortly after he disclosed in an interview with City FM that he and Peter had parted ways professionally due to Peter’s disinterest in continuing with the group. Paul also alleged that Peter had used the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) to have him arrested.
Peter Okoye responded to these claims in an Instagram post on August 12, 2024, where he expressed frustration over Paul’s public statements. He refuted claims of competition and emphasized his own contributions to the group, challenging Paul’s assertions about the songwriting and performing credits within P-Square.
As the brothers navigate their personal and professional differences, Paul Okoye’s recent plea highlights a desire to mend their relationship beyond their musical endeavors.
