“Paris 2024: Ese Brume Finishes 5th in Women’s Long Jump, Nigeria Still Medal-Free”
Ese Brume fell short of a medal in the women’s long jump at the Paris 2024 Olympics, finishing 5th with a leap of 6.70m. Despite her strong showing in Tokyo, where she won bronze, Brume and fellow Nigerians Ruth Usoro and Prestina Ochonogor did not secure a podium finish. This marks Nigeria’s first time fielding three athletes in the final of an individual Olympic event, and the country remains without a medal at the Paris Games.
