The Oyo State Government has announced plans to recruit 791 new officers into various positions within its mainstream civil service. This initiative, described as the largest recruitment drive in two decades, was confirmed by the Chairman of the State Civil Service Commission, Alhaji Kamoru Aderibigbe, during a press briefing in Ibadan on Wednesday.
The recruitment will include 230 education officers and 561 other positions, aimed at enhancing the capacity and effectiveness of the civil service. Aderibigbe emphasized the importance of transparency and fairness in the process, stating that prospective applicants should visit the state government job portal at www.jobportal.oyostate.gov.ng from October 7 to October 11 to apply.
Key requirements for applicants include:
- University graduates must have a minimum of second class honours to apply for degree-requiring positions.
- Polytechnic graduates seeking positions that require a Higher National Diploma (HND) must have at least a lower credit.
- All graduates must possess NYSC discharge or exemption certificates by the time of recruitment.
- For those applying for positions that require the Nigeria Certificate in Education (NCE), a minimum of merit is required.
Aderibigbe assured that the commission would prioritize competence and professionalism in the recruitment process, ensuring it remains free from political interference.
